The 890 is the RF version of the 880. The 880 has terrible ergonomics and many battery issues. You're much better off to look at the 900 ahead of the 890.

I have never had a remote with touch sceen

I do have an iTouch "HUM"

maybe I like buttons for the "in the dark not looking at the remote hitting buttons"

but the 1000 have a couple buttons on the side
