I presently subscribe to strong vpn it gives me access to hulu and bbc iplayer etc, works very well. I notice thet have a dedicated set of routers
http://strongvpn.com/routers.shtml that work with there software, I am wondering if anyone has tried them yet?. It would perhaps allow me to install iplayer on a ps3 or access hulu through Sage TV. It seems to me this could be quite the solution to the geoblocking that goes on. Anyone tried it yet? Or have thoughts or insights into a vpn router
thanks

game changer.

So I did purchase the Asus router and can report it works really well. Fast access to the uk (around 2.5 mbps), using strong VPN. I have an open 4 city package, I got it while ago I think its around $80 per year. So pretty good value. I haven't tried to make it faster, I could play around with different servers, but haven't had time to do this yet. Set up was pretty straight forward, good clear instructions.
One thing is sorting out which router to use, as the routers are in an inaccessible spot, I can't unplug the hardwire easily when I want o switch to the canadian router, I haven't explored the options yet to firgue out the best way of doing that remotely, so for now I have the wireless signal as my vpn with hardwire going to the canadian signal.

I can now access the bbc iplayer (and ITV channel 4 etc), via my ps3 which plays very well, you have to use the browser on the ps3 to access Iplayer, but if you have it set to you home page it's easy.
Even over wifi, I can a decent picture quality, this has got to be a game changer for accessing TV easily to you home tv.
I haven't tried Hulu yet, but assume it will be as easy as the BBC iplayer. I hear you can also access it with the wii, but haven't tried that.
If this gets a big following it will be a huge issue for broadcasters who rely on geoblocking.

couple questions, more on the network side.

why would you want to switch back your main router?

can strong vpn view everything you do? for example is it a good idea to do banking while connected to the vpn?

I know with telus internet you can have two mac addresses registered, so you can go from the Telus router to a switch, then one out to the vpn router and another two your main, that would keep things safe and separate. can you do this with with shaw?

thanks
