Duo is easy to set up and requires only a phone number to reach people in an individual’s contact list, without a lengthy sign-up process.
In order to ensure that users stay connected, the new app will adjust call quality to changing network conditions.
When bandwidth is limited, it is said that Duo will reduce the resolution to keep the call going smoothly.
For video calls on the go, Duo will switch between Wi-Fi and cellular data automatically without dropping a call, allowing users to move about while connected.
In addition, a feature called Knock Knock will let users see live video of a caller before answering a call, giving users a sense of what the caller has been up to and why they may want to chat.
All Duo calls will be end-to-end encrypted, for increased security.
