Shaw Media said today that Version 1.2 of their Global Television Video App is now available for free from the Canadian App Store. When first released last December, the app would only run on the iPad but with latest release, the Apple iPhone and iPod touch are now both supported.

Like the initial version, the free iOS app lets Canadians watch a variety of shows, complete with commercials, that air on Global television.

The line-up of shows include full episodes of House, The Good Wife, NCIS: LA, The Office, Rookie Blue and Survivor along with previous broadcasts of Global National and 16:9:The Bigger Picture.

 Some shows such Glee and Bones, which are owned by Fox are not yet available as the Canadian network does not have the rights for streaming these shows. Shows for which Global has the streaming rights will be available for viewing after the show airs on television for approximately seventeen days.

In addition to full-length episodes, clips and other footage, app users will also have access web to a schedule guide for Global programs with listings up to two weeks in advance.

The free Global Video for iPad app is available now for download from the iTunes Canada app store.
