This thread will discuss the schedule updates for the Global TV broadcast network from Corus for the 2016-17 broadcast year. Note that the Shaw Media channels, including Global, were purchased by Corus this past year.

I post schedule updates, series premieres and specials based on press releases as well as series renewals and cancellations as they are announced. I don't usually post on-going episode information, repeats, program descriptions or "PR-speak," so if you want more info, you can click on the associated link.

As a reminder, the following shows from the 2015-16 season have been cancelled by the U.S. network:

Angel from Hell (CBS)
Containment (CW)
Game of Silence (NBC)
Limitless (CBS)
The Good Wife (CBS)
Heroes Reborn (NBC)
Minority Report (FOX)
Telenovela (NBC)
Truth Be Told (NBC)

The Corus upfront is Thursday, June 9.

Corus' Global Television has yet to confirm its new U.S. series pick-ups, but it's understood that network bought a slew of CBS shows, including Bull, MacGyver, Pure Genius, Kevin Can Wait, Man With a Plan and The Great Indoors. Other Corus' pick-ups include Timeless, Pitch and The Good Place, the Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Global is starting to build their web page, confirming that they are adding the following new series:

Fall Shows on Global | Full list of Global TV shows Fall 2016

Bull
Chicago Justice
Kevin Can Wait
MacGyver
Man With a Plan
Pitch
Pure Genius
The Blacklist: Redemption
The Good Place
The Great Indoors
Timeless

The Blacklist: Redemption and Chicago Justice are both midseason shows that were not in the list from The Hollywood Reporter.

Ignore "New seasons and returning series" for now - that is still from last season.

Global needs to work on its schedule. Based on that preview, I see conflicts already.

The Simpsons and NCIS: LA; NCIS: New Orleans and Chicago Fire; Chicago Med and Pitch. In November, after TNF is over on CBS, there will be even more conflicts.

So what is Global going to do on Thursdays? After October 27th, they're going to have both The Good Place and The Great Indoors on at 8:30, and both The Blacklist and Pure Genius on at 10pm.

Supergirl is moving from Global TV to Showcase - See: http://www.digitalhome.ca/forum/29-...ty-channels-2016-17-schedule.html#post2785369

It is also moving from CBS to CW, which means fans will have to subscribe to either Showcase or a CW network (which some providers don't have in HD.) The good news is that specialty channels can no longer simsub U.S. networks, which means simsub-haters can watch the U.S. commercials. ;)

Out of topic:

Does that mean that Bell is no longer able to simsub TSN on top of NBC or Comedy Network on ABC for its Bell Fibe / Satellite subscribers?

I took a look at the Schedule at GlobalTV.com and Zap2it.com and noticed some unannounced schedule changes. All times are ET.

Friday, Oct. 7
10PM Undercover Boss Canada (premiere) - this program was on the upfront primetime visual grid but wasn't mentioned in any announcements.

Monday, Oct. 10
9PM NCIS: New Orleans - Global will now air the show one day ahead of CBS.

Tuesday, Oct. 11
10PM Chicago Fire (season premiere) - Global will now simsub NBC stead of airing it in pre-release on Mondays. Chicago Fire and NCIS: New Orleans both air at the same time in the U.S.

Friday, Oct. 14
10PM Supergirl - (season premiere, repeat) Global will air a repeat of season 2 episode 1 that aired on Oct. 10 on CW and Showcase. It's not clear if this is a one-shot teaser to get people to watch Showcase (free preview this month) or if it will be a regular repeat and Undercover Boss Canada will just be a Cancon filler when there isn't a new Supergirl episode.

What I really like is that if I'm not at home, I can use the Go Apps to watch Global live. That is really cool ! On Apple IPAD 2, and Iphone and ios you can airplay the shows and live stream straight to your HDTV as well !

Friday, Oct. 21
10PM ET Travelers (repeat of series premiere from Monday, Oct. 17 on Showcase.)

No sign of Supergirl airing anything after episode 1 on Global.

I know I'm responding to an old post, but it looks like Global will shelve the remaining episodes of The Good Place starting Oct. 27 and probably use them as filler when they have a vacant slot. The best bet is to watch the program on NBC if you can.

The Blacklist will get the simsub and Pure Genius will air in pre-release at 7PM ET (11PM in Winnipeg.)

In other news ...
Friday, Oct. 28
10PM Undercover Boss Canada ... back to regularly scheduled programming.

I saw a promo for The Good Place on Global, so I checked their web site and it will be shown one hour in advance of NBC at 7:30PM ET on Oct. 27. The premiere of Pure Genius will be shown a day later on Friday, Oct. 28 at 10PM ET, pushing Undercover Boss Canada off the schedule again.
