...$50 CDN. Less than half what I paid for the S9 15 years ago.
2025 CDN$50 = 2010 CDN$34
So you actually paid less than 1/3 of what you paid in 2010. A spanking good deal. And the technology in the V9 Prime is superior to an S9 from 2010.

Received my V9 this morning. Now the fun begins. My dish motor is out of alignment, and its way to hot to be out in the sun.

Go outside about before 7:00 am or after 8:00 pm. Should be more hospitable. What range can your dish view when using the motor? Mine where it is can see 150W through 82W now. I've had a fixed dish on 81W, 78W and 77W. Not a lot to see from those.

I can view approx 70 to 125W. I moved the dish/motor about 8 feet higher. Now I can't find Gal 19. Its a no brainer. Can't figure out what I am doing wrong. It scanned OK before I moved it! Will try again tomorrow morning.

Tree? Or house overhang? 97W transponders have disappeared. Still trying for an active transponder? Didn't change receiver LO setting? Turned off power at receiver to LNB? Connection tight at receiver/LNB?

After a lot of wasted time I locked in 97W. Somehow my S9 LONG setting changed from west to east. So the motor was confused. Never the less when I blind scanned 97W, I lost a few transponders. I'm only scanning in 38 channels rather than the the usual 95 or so. The Q is 83 and S is 70. I still need to tweak the dish a bit better.

Peak azimuth and motor elevation on highest satellite. Tweak dish elevation (declination) on most eastern and western satellites.

Now blind scanning in 91 TV and 26 Radio channels. S 85%, Q 77%

I think what happened was when I torqued down the bolts holding the motor assembly it shiffted on the mast due to the mast being crushed a bit out of round. More fun! I do have the whole assembly pointing to true south as my reference point.
I'll have to carefully inspect the assembly.

I have one motor and dish combo that can move 30w to 129W. 30W is 6deg off the horizon here and there are trees along the river to the east that (almost) get in the way. Think the motor is an SG2100, been on the go for many years.
Got up to 32C yesterday with humidex around 40ish.. had to work outdoors for most of the day. Guess I survived.. :) Lots of lightning overnight and more on the way so not likely doing antenna work when the sparks are flying!

That's a good range for a Ku motor. When living in the east, I could receive as far east as 3W. With the exception of the 3W satellite, there wasn't much to receive on Ku east of 30W. Now living in the west, I can see as far west as 150W continuous from 82W then I jump with a fixed dish pointed at 180E. From 129W through 150W there are only data transponders on Ku. This is all why I'm glad I got my C-band dish up. It gives new things to explore. The day temps here (about 21C today) are perfect for working in as long as you stay in the shade!

With humidity we are running about 30 degrees. Tomorrow humidex of about 40. Not ideal for anykind of antenna work.
The V9 is up and running. However its not "user friendly". Very lacking in instructions.

Well,
I just got a text that my receiver has been delivered... to an unknown (to me) address in Logan, Utah. I guess I won't be getting it any time soon. Shipping is.. well.. interesting these days.

I am imagining the courier company has a wall of North America in their office, and a some darts. That's how they determine where things get delivered. too bad they didn't have someone with a stronger arm, and aim a bit more to the right.
The shipper has the right address as listed on the order. I have contacted them so we'll see what happens now. This would be funny if it wasn't so aggravating!

Last autumn, I bought some used LNBs from a fellow in the US. I requested USPS/Canada Post shipment. We used the tracking number to track the package en route. From the central US, it went first to Chicago. Then the package went back to the origin city in the central US. Then the package went to Dallas and then Houston where it was "prepared for delivery". The package then went back to the origin city where my contact picked it up at his local post office. Even after talking with the local post office, they couldn't explain what happened. I never did get the LNBs.

Similar experience here. I had some replacement pruners shipped from Fiskars and they went all over the southern US - a dozen different places each time, never getting to me over three different shipping attempts, each attempt taking about a month, earlier this year (USPS). The pruners went back to Fiskars each time and eventually Fiskars used a different shipper (Purolator) and it got to me in 2 days. Very weird.

So you bought from a US source? Not from China?

Came from China.. but I suspect they have a warehouse in NA, likely the US. Shipper (seller) emailed me back and said it's still on its way so maybe this is a transfer point in Utah; which sounds strange to me, but you never know these days. No tracking updates for a few days. If it doesn't show up by the end of the month I'll request a refund.

So many unknowns these days regarding import duties, tariffs, etc. And of course CP could be on strike any day as well as the courier services. Maybe we are going back to mule trains and a guy in a Cessna throwing things out the window (air mail) when he flies over!

Canada Post has a signed contract in place for 3 years. It should be safe to use again for awhile. Maybe your central Canada location makes it advantageous for them to ship to the US first. In that case, except for the price, you may as well source from a US supplier then. Here in Vancouver, things arrive from Asia direct. This is what keeps delivery fairly quick. Mine arrived from Alibaba 8 days following order date. And I could track it with lots of updates accurately right to the day of delivery.

I placed the order with Alibaba on June 24 and the V9 arrived on July 2nd. Too bad Canada Post can't come anywhere close to this service!
