I just synced my Touch and "Tris" wasn't removed. I was suprised that Apple approved this app in the first place as it's clearly a copyright violation and Tetris is notorious for protecting it's name. If the guy had named it "Falling Blocks" or something it probably would have been OK but "Tris" was just asking for trouble.

Lame. The guy should just change the name to something else, as there is no other legal issues. you can make a clone of a game as that is not something you can copyright, otherwise there would be only one football game, one first person shooter, etc..

Welcome to world of frivolous lawsuits. It doesn't matter if the guy can legally make this game or not. He can't pay the legal fees to argue the case and so has to back down. This is pretty much the norm now when dealing with mega corps.
