Does anyone have the free preview for The Cave (formerly Mentv) or Discovery World HD? I see on Eastlink's website that The Cave is supposed to be free from Aug 2-31 and Discovery World HD from July 30-Sept 1. I don't have either one free yet. I thought maybe the holiday yesterday delayed it by a day but so far nothing yet.

I got a message on my DVR that says HD Discovery is supposed to be free from Aug 2- 31 but I can't tune it in.

I called Eastlink Tech support who also contacted customer service and was told that there is no such promotion, even though it is displayed on my TV.

I did notice that the message says the channel is on 690 but here in Charlottetown, it's 790 so maybe it's a Halifax thing?

Just a quick update. I called Eastlink about the free preview and after 48 mins of being on hold and having tech support try to help, they told me that quite a few people were having this issue and that they would escalate it to the top of their list. I was getting to the point of hanging up because it's not like I'm paying for it, it's just a free preview.

So, we'll see what happens.

Alandla, I didn't even have it as a msg on my DVR, I just happened to see it on the website.

That's funny. They told me that they didn't have any free preview offerings and that if they did, it would be posted on their web site but, according to customer service, there was nothing on the website.

They are a strange crew sometimes.

I would imagine the preview is for PEI also. Towards the bottom of the homepage there's a box that says " What's going on with Eastlink...free previews, launches and more". I also had to point out where I had gotten the info as the customer service rep asked where I got the info from. Then she put me through to tech support. After multiple tries to reset my box etc the tech finally put me on hold for about 15 mins and then came back to tell me others had the same problem. You'd think tech support workers would know that.

Update...that didn't take long. I now have both channels.

I don't have the free previews as of last night for Discovery World and The Cave. I also have "Not Subscribed" for the basic cable channels TVA-HD and "V" HD.

TVA-HD and "V"-HD aren't available here in the Bridgewater area as near as I can tell. I don't even see the SD version.

Magnet, I would have thought if they knew some people were having problems receiving it that they'd fix the whole system. Maybe by now you have them as they only put it high priority this morning.

UPDATE: I now have the free previews as of last night for Discovery World and The Cave. The French HD channels are still not available

as of last night, I now have them both here in Charlottetown as well.

Didn't think to check the French channels, sorry.
