Intellione today announced the release of ioVector, a free Blackberry smartphone application that delivers traffic maps, trip times and local search to mobile users.

ioVector is now available for the BlackBerry 8300 & 8800 Series and Bold and Pearl models. Future support for other smartphones is planned.

"We have been rigorously testing ioVector in the GTA for many months," stated Bob Burroughs, Director of Product Marketing for Intellione, "and are thrilled to commercially release this time-saving application to BlackBerry users in Ontario."

ioVector is powered by ioTraffic, the company's patented system that collects and aggregates GPS and mobile phone locations in order to creates delivering timely and detailed traffic congestion information on most roadways.

According to the company, unlike many GPS/navigation applications, ioVector is small in size, downloads in a matter of seconds thereby conserving precious battery power. BlackBerry users can visit to register for a free account and download the application.
