I wanted to add 2 new outlets onto my VIP package and the tech came over because he had to install the outlets and internet service. He was able to install the interet service because the wire was existing but told me he cannot install the other 2 rooms because no wire. He then told me that I had to call a company to run the wire because Rogers does not want to do it.

I live in Vaughan and am woundering if anyone had been told this and what am I expected to be charged to add the cable in 2 more rooms because it has to come out of my own pocket even though I am charged alot of the cable service.

Let me know.

Think they will usually run cables to other rooms along the baseboard or on the outside of the house and through the wall, but usually through the wall with a snake.

Getting a specialist to do it will cost you a few hundred dollars or more depending on the difficulty and proximity of the desired locations to the source feed.

You might try running your own RG6 cables parallel to the network cable. If the network cable is not fastened inside the wall, it could be pulled out with a small rope or fish tape (from Home Depot) attached. Then pull the wires back in with the rope. Use lots of black tape to fasten the wires and provide a smooth connection. If that is not possible, a fish tape can be used to navigate walls and ceiling spaces. Return air vents are sometimes a good place to run wires. It may be necessary to cut small hand holes in the drywall and patch them after.

I have used an RF repeater very successfully in our house. Mileage will vary depending on where & the number of floors you need to traverse. I installed between the cable box & TV. No HD as it is for the bedroom only so not sure about your reception needs.

Search for RF-Link AVS-5811 5.8GHz on Amazon.
