I've had Bell Aliant FibreOp for about 8 months now. When watching TV, every once in a while (at most maybe once or twice per 30 minutes), the TV signal glitches and sort of skips and shows a lot of video artifacts and the sound skips.

Sometimes it happens more than others - mostly when I really want to watch something. Sometimes it happens on one channel more than another. I can't tell if it happens more on HD channels than SD - it happens on both.

I've done things like restart the system through the MediaRoom menu, restart the router, etc. and the problem always comes back.

Does anyone else have this problem, or found a way to remedy it?

My Internet connectivity is unaffected, and seems to have nothing to do with the TV quality. I can be downloading torrents at 3.4 MB/s, and the TV works great, and have all the computers turned off, and the TV signal be glitchy.

My PVR is connected with network cable (CAT5E) to the router.

We only watch TV on the main PVR - we have a 2nd TV in the basement with another STB, but we never watch it... so I don't know if that's affected too.

I would call in and request a tech to come out and look into it, if your pvr is on cat5 and you still get pixelization something is wrong, aliant offeres evening(after 5) and weekend appointments so you shouldn't need to take time off

I certainly notice occasional glitches & pixelization, but It's hard to know whose fault it is: the Network or Bell Aliant. I record The Daily Show and Colbert Report in HD off of the CTVHE channel, and watch them daily. For some reason, The Daily Show in particular seems to occasionally suffer from a HUGE red push in the picture (everything tinted red, especially flesh tones). The sound on The Daily Show has been very glitchy at times, too. Not sure if this is a problem with CTV, Comedy Central, or Bell Aliant.

Also, virtually anytime there is fast movement on screen, I find the picture becomes noticeably pixelated, to an annoying degree. The motion artifacts seem to be much more prevalent than on Bell Satellite.

At the end of the day, not sure what we can do about these issues, if anything. Will wait it out a while longer, then it may be time to "vote with your wallet", so to speak.

I rarely see any defects in the picture, but with that said I DO tend to see some distortion at the time of software updates such as the one we recently had. HOPEFULLY that will change with time, maybe its the Actiontec that can't handle the load??? I would hope that with a world class network that we have on Fibreop we get the best picture and sound available to today! I do notice that AMC often has the best picture and sound, looks amazing on a 60 inch plasma, while I don't think true 5.1 is there the sound is better than most other channels

Same problem, Aliant was out twice, OK when they are here. Gave up.
Internet works fine, Netflix fine, Airplay (to Apple TV OK).
Just the TV channels that has drop outs. Annoying.
Same problem using Cat5 or Coax to their router so using Ethernet Cat5 not the fix.
Their system cannot deal with more than more than 2 desktop boxes.

I have 5 STBs in my house ( they are never viewing tv at the same time mostly its two) there are four wireless devices usually always on and at times up to seven. I don't get artifacts in my tv shows except it seems at times when updates are flowing through the system BUT what I do often get is what I refer to as out of sync picture and sound and it seems to only happen on the PVR STB I have the old version from about 3 yrs ago (the silver one) sometimes even recorded shows are out of sync ( I record western feeds mostly when nothing else is running IE not interrupting my hockey games because only so many streams can run at once) I am on CAT5 throughout my whole house with two gigabit switches in the mix (soon to be a third as my wifi has been sucking lately) For a state of the art system it sometimes leaves a bit to be desired. I think the POS actiontec may be the problem and I am thinking about moving to the Asus for my internet and leave the tvs on the actiontec.
