Please tell that there is an improved IPG with graphics and better navigation on this "great" new PVR! I had a better looking and a much more functional and attractive Guide and interface on my Bell Satellite 9242 than I now have on my VIP5662. The VIP 5662 is something left over from the Stone Age.

As a systems guy, you should know its however the designers and coders wanted it to be, although some options may not make sense. The options on other PVRs I've used were to keep recordings indefinitely (protect recording) or until space is needed. Until space is needed typically deletes the oldest, unprotected recording first to make space space for a new recording. The protect recording option will make new recordings fail once all unprotected programming has been deleted. It appears that the protect recording option has been replaced by a one year expiry option. I suspect that all recordings will be deleted after one year regardless of status. These options can sometimes be applied to individual recordings to override the default settings. It may or may not be possible to change the settings on existing programs.

If I upgrade FTTN to FTTH, will they make me upgrade to the cloud PVR as well? We regularly record some exercise videos that we want to keep for more than a year.
I can't imagine they would do that. There's no real change that would affect TV.
When I had mine done, they just changed the modem and then removed the copper line and plugged in the fiber line.

Bell's tactic never seems to be forcing people to change something, they just keep increasing the price until the customer asks for the change.
