I am looking for feedback from those who may own this HT 5.1 system.

Reviews are great.

I have revamped my audio system and noticed the polk Audio 5.1 RM75BD system on sale at FS for a screaming $239, quite the deal with 5 speakers and a decent sub

I also just bought 4 Energy RC Minis plus an Energy RC Mini centre for $750 plus tax BUT no sub incl (plan to use my older Yamaha sub for now). Eventually will replace the sub with newer & better.

I realize the Energy RC Minis & Center are better overall but are they worth the added cost of $500 extra for 75% movie viewing & 25% music. I am pairing to Onkyo TX-SR605 receiver. The viewing room is 20 w x 15 deep roughly. I am kinda thinking if the Polks don't cut it I can always sell them later & go the Energy route. One concern is will the Polk centre produce good clear audio in quiet BR movie scenes. Reviews show it to be a decent HT package, be great to hear from those who own or can lend some feedback

Which route would you go, I can spend the extra but is it really worth it? Previous components were B&W 610i series front bookshelves, PSB Century Ci100 centre and PSB Alpha Mite rears w Yamaha YST-45 8" subwoofer. I ordered the Polk Audio and it is i store for pickup just to guarantee I got the $239 price

Appreciate all feedback

Based on your previous experience with B&W, PSB, and now Energy, you might be disappointed with the Polk. I bought a very similar Polk set (older model, nearly identical) at a similar price and found them lacking after awhile. I upgraded the L, C, & R speakers and have noticed a big improvement in movies, games, and especially music.

I own the RM10s and RM20s (actually the 10s are part of the RM20s packages). By the looks of it the center is an RM20. Those small packages are much better than pure HTIBs. The pricing is right as they normally are worht more than the actual sale price tags. I find that when prices are going that low it is simply because Polk are about to pull out newer products and those go for sale at bargain prices before they become part of their vintage products (however usually available for a few years from the big box stores). I actually bought 2 sets of RM20s so I could make full 5.1 with RM20s thus eliminating the smaller RM10s. Carefull, if you hope to resell the package, I tried to sell the RM10s unsuccessfully. By the way, which sub is coming with your offer? The PSW10 never impressed me but many here that bought it really enjoy it. I've heard of a few port issues. The PSW111 is smaller driver but more efficient. Personnally I got the PSW110 with my first RM package and love it. The DSW is the new Polk line of subs and I believe might be more suitable for movies (I think the port problems found in some of the PSW line was resolved).

If you are buying from FS, you might be getting the DSW400 which isn't bad at all:
