The Nintendo DSi XL, a new extra large DSi with 4.2 inch screens, launches in Canada and the United States on March 28th.

The DSi XL is the fourth version of the Nintendo DS handheld gaming console and was first released in Japan last November.

The device will be available in burgundy or bronze and will come pre-loaded with three DSiWare titles, Brain Age, Express: Math and Brain Age, Express: Arts & Letters, as well as Photo Clock, which lets users customize the pictures on the background of their clock.

In addition, Nintendo announced a new cartridge application that turns the DSi into an e-book reader. The $20 application titled 100 Classic Books will include works from authors such as William Shakespeare and Mark Twain. Users will also be able to download additional content through Wi-Fi.

The device will sell for $189.99 U.S.
