Responding later in the day, Amazon slashed the price of its Kindle from $259 to $189 U.S., a 27% cut. That lower price is also been made available for consumers in Canada.
The price of Amazon's Kindle DX, a larger version of Kindle with 9.7" electronic ink display, built-in GSM wireless modem and wireless connectivity remains unchanged at $489 USD for now.
