Well 20 days past my 2 year warranty my auto iris began to get rather noisy. I have turned it off for now until I decide to tear into the projector. Any one attempt to clean and lubricate and auto Iris before?

Did you try getting Epson to look into it even though the warranty is up? I had a convergence problem on my LG TV and my warranty had expired for almost a month. I called LG and they fixed it no problem. They said they understood that these things happen all the time. Good luck!

Yep tried, got sorry that is out of warranty. Here is a list of repair shops.

I watched this weekend with the auto iris turned off and while the blacks are not as good I THINK I can live with it for now. I like to tinker so ill go a week or two before tearing into the unit and see if there is anything I can and hopefully not make thing worse :)

Too bad. I guess LG was a better company than Epson when it came for compassionate understanding.
