To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Dora the Explorer, the popular animated children's television series, Treehouse TV is inviting young fans and their parents to attend a Dora the Explorer Celebration at the CN Tower in Toronto on August 5.

The media event is designed to promote the premiere of an hour-long primetime movie "Dora's Big Birthday Adventure" which will air in Canada on Treehouse TV on August 15th.

The Treehouse CN Tower celebration will take place from 10am to 3pm on Thursday. The network is inviting pre-school fans will to participate in fun activities as well as meet and greets with their favourite Nick characters, Kai-lan, SpongeBob and Diego.

Dora's Big Birthday Adventure airs on Sunday, August 15 at 6 p.m. ET. and guest-stars the voices of Rosie Perez as the witch, John Leguizamo as the flying monkeys, and Hector Elizondo as the wishing wizzle. The final instalment of the Magic Storybook Trilogy, Dora and Boots find their way home for Dora's birthday party where all of her family and friends are waiting to celebrate with her.

In case you don’t already know, Dora the Explorer is a preschool favourite seen in over 151 markets around the world and translated in more than 30 languages.

The animated title character is a seven-year-old Latina heroine whose adventures take place in an imaginative, tropical world filled with jungles, beaches and rainforests. Dora is bilingual and in each episode, she teaches Spanish words or phrases to the viewers and then asks them to use it to solve a problem. Ultimately, Dora and her best friend, Boots, triumph, and the story always ends with a "We Did It!" anthem.

In Canada, the show reaches 2.5 million Canadian viewers a month.
