I'm renovating a home in Kingston, ON, where I'll be moving before this summer. In that home I'll have a 'media room' with, hopefully, great sound insulation so I can crank the tunes while my wife sleeps!!

BUT !!

I'd like to install a light, in the 'media room' which would flash when, a] the phone rings; b] when the door-bell rings or c] when the intercom rings.
Now, I think I'll just use the phone for intercom [Panny cord-less Dect. 6.0] so that should piggy-back on the phone 'signal', but I would like to tie in the phone and door-bell.
There are such devices available for 'single-use' systems for the 'deaf', but I'm not sure, if or how, I can double up to use one light.
I thought I'd throw this query out to the Digital Home Forums world to see if you can come up with any ideas or solutions.

Thanks.

Bought a wireless door bell at Home Depot last summer that has a built-in strobe light. We actually bought two so one is on the main floor and the other in the HT room. It's wireless in the sense that the button outside has a battery, but the unit in the basement has no problems getting the signal. We just can't hear the bell when we have a movie at full blast. The strobe light is quite handy.

I have a Teledoor bell and when the doorbell is pressed, it rings all the wireless phones in the house (5 Audiovox, one in the HT room) and lets you talk to the person outside. The device can also trigger up to four relays (could open an electric door lock). Other benefit is you can direct the front door audio to any cell phone if you don't pick up the home phone. Convenient when you are running errands and someone comes knocking.

Teledoorbell from AARtech (don't know if I'm allowed to say that). I had the video/audio version before, but now just have the audio version. It is expensive ($600). Not only is it useful in the HT room, but poolside also.

Channelvision also sells a doorbell unit at $336 that rings your home phones. Also from same supplier.
