Does "Unlimited Email & Instant Messaging" Still Mean Unlimited Mobile Browsing?

For thos of you that are near the end of a 3 year contract with Telus, you'll know that their previous plan of "unlimited email and instant messaging" ALSO included unlimited mobile web browsing. I'm on that very plan right now that is due to expire in a few months.

I see that Telus still offers plans that have "unlimited email and instant messaging" and I'm wondering if that still includes the unlimited mobile web browsing?

I see they now charge "data" usage by the GB, but I've never quite understood how they differentiate email, instant messaging, social networking, and plain old web browsing. After all, isn't it ALL Internet data in the end??

If someone in the know, actually knows about this I'd be glad to hear from you as I'd like to continue to use the web on my soon to get new Blackberry and not have to pay anymore than I've already been paying for the last three years..

Thanks..

Are you currently using a BlackBerry on that plan? Reason I ask is because with BlackBerrys, the providers send out service books to help ensure the device can only use features you are subscribed to. For example, if you don't have access to web browsing, the Browser icon won't even appear on your device.

I'm not sure about Telus, but I know Bell won't send the Browser service book on their equivalent plan.

...ya, just last month I ended my previous contract with the "unlimited" like you, and had to get a data plan for my new Milestone. It sucks...having to think about how much data you're using all the time subtracts a bit from the enjoyment of the phone. They still let me have unlimited texts though, those beautiful, greedy people!;)

it does suck cuz you essentially now pay 20$ for your measly 500meg limit($5 more then unlimited)... My wifes moto backflip on 3g does not exactly blow me away in the internet speed department...

If i could find a CDMA option i think id buy one and keep this contract.
