Hi all,

You know how the Bell FibeTV STB is never really off, I was wondering if the TOSLink Optical is still on when the STB is turned off. The reason I ask is that I have an old receiver with only a single TOSLink Optical in with the audio hooked up to my STB, but I was hoping to add another BluRay or PS3. I'd like to just use a cheap TOSLink/Optical splitter which requires me to switch one of the devices off to not interfere with the other outputting device (instead of getting a switch).

Thanks.

Why not just turn it off and see for yourself?

I have and there's still a red light coming out of the cable, but its solidly on - will this interfere with the light coming from a PS3? Does it "pulse" when its transmitting information? Don't really know. Has anyone used a TOSLink/Optical splitter instead of a switch?
