I have a technician coming tomorrow to my apartment.
But my TV and cable outlet is located on the opposite side of the wall, and I'm wondering do I need to move the TV or can the technician staple the cable along the wall?
One of my friend told me that the technician did it, but wasn't sure if that was a common practice.

Those guys *LOVE* to staple along baseboards, around door frames and anywhere else they can. If it were me, I'd prefer they went through the wall.

When I first got a cable modem, Rogers had to get the cable from one end of my condo to the other. The first guy that showed up wanted to staple the cable to the baseboards, around doors etc., almost the entire length of my unit. I refused. Next a two man crew came and spent 3 hours fishing the cable from one end to the other and did a very nice job. They even patched the holes they made in the drywall. The cable is only visible where it crosses the ceiling of my laundry room, where it runs right next to an air duct.

At my sister's previous home, Cogeco stapled a cable right up the middle of the living room wall to get to an upstairs bedroon.

I don't really care if they staple as it's an apartment. I just didn't want them saying "we only do a set-up", and leave...

Frankly I'd be surprised if the Rogers tech did that kind of thing inside your apartment. Please let us know what they end up doing.

they did staple the cable against the wall. I wouldn't even try to use words like clean or neat job (lets just say I could have done better job if I had 20 minutes and the staple gun), but he did it, and that's all i care

Rogers doesn't do custom fishing. If they do, i believe they subcontract and it'll cost around 75$ to have it done.

Both times, it was a contractor and no, it didn't cost me anything. Of course, this was about 10 - 11 years ago. I wonder what would happen today, if you told them do it right or don't do it at all?

That Cogeco job at my sister's was a disgrace.
