I was wondering if a media player or another computer for that matter connected thru an ethernet connection will use up valuable bandwidth? i watch movies, etc in another room thru an ethernet connection to the modem and my main computer and it seems that my bandwidth usage is very high. Answers appreciated.

I assume you mean your Rogers Bandwidth cap.

The key is where is the movie or show coming from, the internet or from your computer.

If you are streaming a movie from the internet to your media extender over your home network then you are using bandwidth.

If you are streaming a movie from your computer to your media extender over your home network then you are not using any bandwidth.

What is your bandwidth usage?
