I'm not 100% sure how toll-free service works, but couldn't you get a distinctive ring from Shaw (which is 2 phone numbers provisioned to the same line), and then have your toll-free calls forward to one of those numbers?
As I understand it, if you have an existing phone number 2045550123 , and you get Distinctive Ring, they'll give you a second phone number , 2045550124, which will ring the same line with a different ring tone. You then get your 877 number to forward to 2045550124, and it will ring your line with the different ringtone.
Distinctive Ring is free with the $40 phone package, and costs $3.95/mo on the lower packages.
