I'm using a SA/Explorer 4250HD and 8300HD via it's composite and analog audio output. However there is an ~1.5s lag between theses and my coax (rf) cable service.

Is there a way to shorten (using audio optic/digital etc) to shorten the time it takes to receivre A/V signals on these devices ? I need to process some channels not available on rf cable with the shortest delay available..

Where is the delais in the path, is it videotron, the box is slow to downconvert or there is something else im missing?

It's the processing in the digital STB (and perhaps at the head end too) and there's nothing you can do about it unless you somehow can delay your analogue by the 1.5 seconds or so.

Wouldn't you be using either the STB or analogue and therefore the difference shouldn't matter, other than if you're watching a programme on two separate monitors/TVs. Why do you "care" about the difference in timing?
