This thread will discuss the schedule updates for the DHX Television Channels for the 2017-18 broadcast year, consisting of Family Channel, Family CHRGD, Family Jr. and Télémagino.

I post schedule updates, series premieres and specials based on press releases as well as series renewals and cancellations as they are announced. I don't usually post on-going episode information, repeats, program descriptions or "PR-speak," so if you want more info, you can click on the associated link in the post.

I just noticed that DHX stopped distributing their news releases through newswire.ca about 6 months ago so I wasn't getting them in my inbox. They have past releases at their web site Trade News - DHX Media

Family Channel – All Times ET/PT

Raising Expectations – New Episodes Return – Monday, September 4 at 7:30 p.m.
New episodes air regularly Mondays at 7:30 p.m. beginning September 18.

Speechless – New Series – Monday, September 4 at 8 p.m.
Season one is exclusive to Family Channel. New episodes will air regularly Mondays at 8 p.m. beginning September 18.

The Zoo – Series Premiere – Friday, September 8 at 4:30 p.m.

Lego Friends – New Episodes Return – Saturday, September 9 at 10:30 a.m.

The X Factor – Season 14 Premiere – Saturday, September 9 at 7 p.m.
New episodes air regularly Saturdays and Sundays at 7 p.m.

Dr. Ken – New Episodes Return – Monday, September 18 at 8:30 p.m.

“Laughter-school” Programming – Monday to Thursday from 3 to 6:30 p.m.
Brand new episodes from top-rated series including All Hail King Julien, Alvinnn!!! and The Chipmunks, Dragons: Race To The Edge, My Knight and Me and The Adventures of Puss in Boots.

Movies premiering in September include: Air Bud: World Pup, Air Buddies, Big, Fantastic Mr. Fox and Monkey Up. Check local listings for show times.

The Deep – Season 2 Premiere – Tuesday, September 5 at 6 p.m.

Dinotrux – Series Premiere – Monday, September 11 at 4:30 p.m.

Sonic Boom – Season 2 Premiere – Tuesday, September 19 at 6:30 p.m.

Turbo FAST – Season 2 Premiere – Tuesday, September 26 at 4 p.m.

Family Jr. – All Times ET

Daniel Tiger’s Neighbourhood – Series Premiere – Monday, September 4 at 5:15 p.m.

Pajanimals – Series Premiere – Monday, September 4 at 7:30 p.m.

Throughout September, Family Jr.’s schedule will continue to be sprinkled with preschoolers’ favourite shows with new episodes from Curious George, Super WHY!, Teletubbies, Twirlywoos, Noddy, Toyland Detective, Elias: Rescue Team Adventures, In the Night Garden and more, airing alongside the series mentioned above.

The majority of programming debuting as part of Family, Family CHRGD and Family Jr.’s September schedule will also be available on The Family Channel App as well as each channel’s respective OnDemand service. Additionally, viewers can visit Family.ca, FamilyJr.ca and CHRGD.ca for more information on new series, new specials and new games throughout the fall.

Comments: Season 1 of Speechless aired only on ABC last year. Season 2 will air on ABC this year along with City TV in Canada.
Dr. Ken aired for 2 seasons on ABC before it was cancelled.
The X Factor is the UK edition which premiered Season 14 on September 2, 2017 on ITV.

SURFS UP! ZAK STORM RIDES ONTO CHRGD AUGUST 21

Family CHRGD premiered Zak Storm on Monday, August 21 at 5 p.m. ET. Following the premiere event, Zak Storm moved to its regular timeslot, Tuesdays at 5 p.m. ET.


TÉLÉMAGINO WELCOMES THREE NEW PRESCHOOL SERIES THIS SEPTEMBER

Little People began Monday, September 4 at 4:30 p.m. ET.

Bob the Builder began Monday, September 4 at 4:55 p.m. ET.

Dinotrux premieres on Monday, September 11 with new episodes airing daily at 5:20 p.m. ET until Friday, September 15. On September 18, Dinotrux officially joins Télémagino’s Monday Funday lineup, airing alongside other DreamWorks series including All Hail King Julien, Dragons: Race to the Edge and The Adventures of Puss in Boots.

New episodes from all three series will also be available on The Télémagino App and Télémagino OnDemand.

A 26-episode second season of Supernoobs has been greenlit by DHX Television's Family Channel in Canada.

Season 1 is currently airing on Corus' Teletoon and Cartoon Network Canada. It's not clear if the season ever aired on Family Channel.

Family Channel Says "Bonjour" to Season Two of Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir, Premiering February 16

Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir returns for a second season, debuting with two back-to-back episodes on Friday, February 16 at 11 a.m. ET/PT. Following the premiere, Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir joins Family's Super Awesome Fun Time lineup.

In celebration of the season two premiere, Family Channel is hosting a full-day marathon of Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir with 22 action-packed episodes. The heroic adventures begin on Friday, February 16 at 7:15 a.m. ET/PT and include four brand new episodes airing at 11 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 4 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. ET/PT. Will Ladybug and Cat Noir stop Hawk Moth from going through with his evil plan? Fans will have to tune in to find out!

Following the premiere event, Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir moves to its regular timeslot, weekdays at 4 p.m. ET/PT, joining Family Channel's Super Awesome Fun Time lineup. Airing afterschool, Monday – Friday, from 3 – 6:30 p.m. ET/PT, the newly launched programming block is the go-to destination for kids' favourite animated series.

Family Channel's Tween Drama Backstage Returns March 12

Premiering Monday, March 12 at 6:30 p.m. ET/PT on Family Channel, the second season of Backstage debuts as a full week event, with new episodes airing daily at 6:30 p.m. ET/PT until Friday, March 16, and an advance preview on The Family Channel App. Following premiere week, Backstage moves to its regular timeslot, Fridays at 6:30 p.m. ET/PT.

Family Channel's March Break lineup begins on Friday, March 9 at 9 p.m. ET/PT with the network premiere of Daddy's Home and features must-see movies daily at 7 p.m. ET/PT, from March 10 – 18.

Massive Monster Mayhem will return on Monday, March 12, Wednesday, March 14, and Friday, March 16 at 9:30 a.m. ET/PT, before the series moves to its regular timeslot on March 24, Saturdays at 9 a.m. ET/PT.

Family Channel's multi-platform offerings will also be joining the March Break celebrations with new episodes of Backstage available on the The Family Channel App beginning March 9. Immediately following each episode's broadcast premiere, fans can head to the App to watch the next episode of Backstage, one day early! Those looking to catch up on past episodes can take advantage of the App's Free Preview, which currently offers the entire first season of Backstage and the first part of Massive Monster Mayhem to users without a subscription throughout February and March. New episodes will also be available on Family OnDemand, with a sampling on Family.ca.

DHX Television's Family Channel announced today that principal photography has begun on its Holly Hobbie live-action series. The contemporary new tween drama is being filmed in Toronto and Hamilton this month. The series makes its debut with 10 episodes in the US exclusively on Hulu this fall, followed by its Canadian debut on Family Channel. Universal Kids (US) has also purchased the linear rights for the series following its first window run on Hulu.

Family Channel starts production on new live-action scripted comedy Greenfields

DHX Television's Family Channel, Universal Kids and Six Eleven Media are pleased to announce that production has begun on the new live-action series Greenfields. The 20-episode order of the half-hour comedy is being filmed in Toronto and featuring a predominantly Canadian cast, with the series scheduled to debut on Family Channel (Canada) and Universal Kids (U.S.), NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment's network for kids 2-12, in fall 2018.

Family Channel dives into its summer programming event with two new series joining the lineup on Canada Day:

Polly Pocket – Sunday, July 1 at 8:30 a.m. ET/PT – One-hour Special
The 60-minute animated special debuts ahead of the series, which joins Family's schedule permanently on August 4.

Trollhunters: Tales of Arcadia – Sunday, July 1 at 10 a.m. ET/PT – 90-minute Special
Following its premiere, new episodes of the animated series will air Saturday mornings at 8:30 a.m. ET/PT throughout the summer.

Viewers can get into the swing of things with Family's summer schedule shift (July 3) featuring: fan-favourite series marathons daily at 6 a.m. ET/PT and 1 p.m. ET/PT; a back-to-back summer flick frenzy beginning at 9 a.m.; and the continuation of the Super Awesome Fun Time lineup at 3 p.m. ET/PT. Popular shows include: Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir, Dawn of the Croods, Johnny Test, Zak Storm, LEGO Friends, The Mr. Peabody and Sherman Show, The Adventures of Puss in Boots and Grizzy and The Lemmings.

The Family Channel App will also be a prime destination for viewers throughout July and August, hosting super summer episodes and mega movie titles in the Summer Feels playlist. As a special presentation on the Family Channel App, the first nine episodes of Polly Pocket will be released throughout July, ahead of the series premiere in August.
