Hello,

My parents have Bell TV. My mother called me and said that recently on many channels (channels not in the range below 100) have voice overs that describe the action that is taking place (this is especially present on movies). This sounds like described video to me, but seems odd because they are not watching the dv channels. Is there a setting that may have been inadvertently activated that turns this on?

Dv is only on the low Channel Numbers, can you find out the actual Channel numbers being watched.?

"You can access Described Video through your television receiver by turning on the Secondary Audio Program (SAP) channel that contains the program description. "
On Bell, they move it to a separate DV channel. It's not on SAP.

Sorry I didn't post this sooner

The regular channels that carry DV all carry the information for it but you have to use alternate audio setting in your receiver to hear it, and PVR recordings record both audio tracks which can be accessed at any time by changing the settings.
The DV channels carry that alternate audio as their primary audio settings so no changes are required to the settings to hear it.

Channel 284 PBS showed Downton Abbey and there was annoying described video playing.
The Info button showed it was DV/CC; was it a problem with my digital Expressvu box or a download problem by Bell?
Pressing the * button on my remote did not turn it off as suggested by some other posts.
