Digital rights and linear TV rights don't have to be sold in the same package if the NFL wants to split them. That's likely what happened.

As for rural users... they don't want to pay the true cost of supplying the service in sparsely populated areas. That means it'll only happen when the government gets urban users to subsidize them.

The CFL is in bed with TSN - so I don't see that changing, however, the lack of content this year is surprising to me on TSN GO compared to the past. Maybe the 60+ year old CFL fan base doesn't watch TSN GO. No wonder no Gen-X fans like myself or younger watch the CFL. Would be interesting if DAZN somehow wrangles a CFL contract, but doubt it.

Yes, there's lots of consternation among CFL fans at how Bell has put it in the "watch TSN live is the only way to see anything" category. It's absurd in this day and age, especially for a league that is actively trying to broaden the fan base. It's not like TSN subscription numbers are going up.

But they locked into that deal with Bell, so they're stuck now.

Sure they did. The NFL cares about $$$. They got lots of $$$. The rest is just details.

With the exception of F1, particularly in Quebec, motorsports don't move the needle in Canada.

Yup, and F1 has a streaming service already. So they're highly unlikely to appear on another one.
