Per Zelkovich over at the Star...
It wasn't a trade, but it almost looks like one.

Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment is expected to announce today that David Amber is leaving ESPN to join Raptors NBA TV as its main anchor. Amber will replace Adnan Virk, who left the anchor job earlier this year to join -- you guessed it -- ESPN.

MLSE broadcast head Chris Hebb confirmed that Amber will join the channel in October, anchoring pre-game and post-game shows and handling other desk duties with NBA properties. ``This is a good move for David and a good move for us," Hebb said.

I remember a few years ago he had said that he intended to start doing more content for TSN but that quickly died off. Now it looks as if the travel has got to him and he wants to settle down a bit.

TSM also had a piece on this...
Well, this is one you can put in the books. No salary cap issues. No trade exceptions, no meddling owners/coaches. Espn has giveth and has taken away. In what appears to be a trade of on air talent, Raptors tv has a new host in David Amber who comes from ESPN where Adnan Virk has flown the coop for.

Amber, I am told isn’t just coming back to Toronto for this gig was on tv here before and he takes over the Raptors tv desk for the coming season.
