I have had Telus services since May or June of last year. They installed a d-link triple play modem/router at the time.
I have been having consistent problems ever since with loss of internet and or tv programming which is resolved by powering the modem off and on. This was getting very old.
Talked to CSR who is sending me a new modem.
Will it be d-link or have they changed to actiontec and if so is it any better?

I had the exact same issues and the tech came out and replaced the dlink with the Actiontech and the problem was solved (haven't had a restart since the change). I assume they would send you the Actiontech.

For straightforward set-ups I think the Actiontec will produce better results, at least in my experience. The D-link worked fine with hardwired components but was inconsistent with my primary Mac which was wireless. Since the changeover to the Actiontec, wireless download speeds have increased up to 6mbps from 17 to 23+ mbps. and have been much more consistent, touch wood!

The Actiontec is much better for TV and for DSL. The Dlink hasn't been used as a standalone modem even on 2+ in a long time since it isn't capable of keeping up with the workload.

Also, the Actiontec has wireless N.
