Could it be the ostrich technique?. Or maybe they took a page out of the Egyptian president's "How-to-handle-protests" guidebook. I wonder how long the outage will last.

PS: Better resubmit those protest letters. Backups only occur on the 3rd Thursday of odd numbered months. :)

They were busy updating the site with the FreeHD Canada application to "expropriate" Nimiq 5 from Echostar, Bell & Telesat

I see this as "major" issue for BTV as it has a deal with Dish so I can see this 'EXPLODING" much bigger then it appears to be? Because they(FreeHD) could also turn around and go after the ones that own 129.

Simply put FreeHD could say to the CRTC we need the 129 spot for our Western Arc subs & 72.7 for our Eastern Arc. So thois issue may become a bigger issue.

The same rule 28 & 29 could also be applied to 129 Its a Canadian spot owned by a Canadian Company.

FreeHD is obviously very desperate. Ciel owns the satellite at 129. Canadians had an opportunity to have both those locations but no one was interested so it was leased to American interests (Dish). You can't just renege on that while they're in use.

And BTV has the same deal with Dish for N5 you can't just regene, because N5 was leased to Dish as well.

If the CRTC can make BTV/Telesat do it with N5 they can make Ciel do the same.

I see this going to court in a law suit from Dish.
