Ottawa based Corel Corporation today announced the latest version of its consumer photo-editing and video-editing software for Windows.

New features in PaintShop Photo Pro X3 photo-editing software include a new organizer, multi-photo adjustment feature, object extractor and a project creator.

Corel says the new organizer includes tools for rating, tagging, locating and quickly touching up image files. The Organizer also makes it easy to select images and view them in multiple ways.

To make the editing of multiple photos move faster, multi-photo adjustments lets users capture the changes made to an image and then applied to multiple photos thereby removing the tedium of making the same changes over and over again.

In additon to announcing new photo-editing software, Corel also announced the latest version of its video-editing software. New features in VideoStudio Pro X3 include hardware acceleration for Intel Corei7, NVIDIA CUDA and AMD, new video templates and real time effects, Blu-ray authoring, HD authoring to standard DVD media and an enhanced Smart Proxy for faster previewing and more responsive HD editing.

Corel PaintShop Photo Pro X3 and Corel VideoStudio Pro X3 are now available for download from the Corel online store for $100 each in Canada and the U.S. for the full version or $80 each for the upgrade. Retail versions will be available in retail stores in February.

In addition to the standalone products, Corel is introducing a bundled edition which includes both Corel PaintShop Photo Pro X3 and Corel VideoStudio Pro X3 for $150.
