Hi,

So I have a Rogers HD PVR Box from Rogers which has an HDMI Output.
I just bought an HD Monitor from Dell with HDMI input.
My question is, will I be able to connect my Rogers HD PVR box directly to my Dell Monitor and receive cable? I know that I'd be able to do it using a regular HDTV but since this is a "Monitor" I'm not sure.

Your help is greatly appreciated!

a regular HDTV is also essentially a "monitor" too.

yes it should work, is your monitor 16:9 or 16:10 aspect ratio? the reason is cus some dell monitors are 16:10 and will have black bars on the top too.

does your monitor have built-in sound? if not, you will need a pair of external computer speakers, you an find them for about $10 plus HST.

Yes, I do that with my 23" LG 1080p monitor and 4250 STB, using the HDMI cable. I ran an analog audio cable to a stereo receiver for sound. However, I could instead plug amplified speakers into the headphone jack on my monitor. I also use the monitor DVI input for my computer.
