Cologix says the recently completed expansion of 3,000 square feet of new colocation space at 151 Front Street in downtown Toronto was strongly pre-sold and the balance is selling fast.

The new capacity is comprised of two suites suitable for customers looking for either a dedicated suite or a shared colocation environment in downtown Toronto.

And if you're still not convinced, Cologix says these suites will likely represent "one of the last opportunities to secure a significant footprint within 151 Front Street for the foreseeable future."

But the Denver-headquartered interconnection and colocation web hosting firm has a great backup plan. It's close to finishing its new Toronto data centre at 905 King Street, a redeveloped facility with the express purpose of serving as the sister data centre to 151 Front Street, regarded as Canada’s largest and most important interconnection point.

The first phase of completion for the new 20,000 square foot facility in Toronto's Liberty Village is scheduled for December 2012. Combined with the Carrier Hotel capacity on Front Street, Cologix will maintain more than 50,000 square feet of data centre space in Toronto.

In Canada, Cologix provides more than 140 network choices and offers colocation Web hosting services in Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver as well as direct connectivity to the Toronto Internet Exchange (TORIX).
