Cogeco, the countries fourth largest cable provider, today announced its financial results for the final quarter of its 2008 fiscal year which ended August 31, 2008.

Another big year for a Canadian cable operator. Most of Cogeco growth came from Digital Phone followed by increases in Digital Cable and HSI.

Stock was battered due to lower profits and an unrosy forecost going forward.

Maybe they can spend some of those profits and provide the same services that Rogers is that they have the balls to charge the same prices for.

Hey, we have TSN2 so I'm not complaining. Unfortunately in the last year I changed from Cogeco High Speed internet to a cheaper DSL option because of the enforcement on caps. Now the DSLers are all getting throttled by Bell, but realistically, I've made the change and I don't see why I'd ever change back to Cogeco.

As for Digital Phone, I've told them, whenever they've called, what I'm looking for. I have basic, basic phone with Bell. $25/month or so for no features. I don't need the $45/month plan from Cogeco for unlimited long distance, etc. I was digital phone for the same price as Bell, but just with frills like Caller ID, etc. I figure at some point Cogeco will offer something like that to get people like me.
