Kids whose parents subscribe to Cogeco Cable will be happy this week after the broadcast provider added two family friendly stations to its Ontario and Quebec digital channel line-up.
In Ontario, Cogeco kids can look forward to Disney XD while kids in Quebec can now watch the French language Disney Junior.
Disney XD is now on a three month preview on channel 99. The French language Disney Junior can be seen on channel 89 and is also part of a free preview.
Disney XD offers discovery and adventure programming primarily targeted at boys ages 6-14. Programming includes titles such as Kick Buttowski - Suburban Daredevil, Kickin' It and Wingin' It. Like its English counterpart, the French-language version of Disney Junior is a commercial-free network featuring popular Disney titles such as La Maison de Mickey (Mickey Mouse Clubhouse) and Jake et les pirates du pays imaginaire (Jake and the Never Land Pirates), Disney Junior also showcases Canadian pre-school productions including Justin rêve (Justin Time) and the lauded Stella et Sacha (Stella and Sam).
The launches of both of these networks form part of the long-term renewal agreement between Astral and Cogeco Cable for Astral's movie and kids services.
"Disney Junior is proving itself to be a beloved brand with Anglophone and Francophone preschoolers and their families; we are thrilled to see it launch on Cogeco." said Joe Tedesco, Senior Vice-President and General Manager, Astral Kids.
