Using a Cogeco TiVO setup with the Arris TG1672 cable modem/router. Since installation a long time ago, I've had the Arris configured with both wireless channels disabled and SSID broadcast disabled. (Using my own Asus wireless router instead)

This week I noticed that the two disabled channels show up as choices on my iOS devices and I can log onto them. Rebooted the Arris, logged on to verify that wireless is not enabled, and yet I can see and connect to both the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz channels.

What's going on? Anyone else experiencing this security hole?

Was able to disable wireless once again only by:
- enabling both channels
- rebooting Arris
- disabling both wireless channels
- rebooting wireless

If you have this Arris TG1672 modem/router and run it with wireless ports disabled, BEWARE of this security hole!
