I've heard of this process. It's a way to exceed the multiple reciever limit on an account.

Customers on some systems (Bell /Telus) folks use an EPROM Reader / Burner to copy the information from a working reciever that is "registered" on a system onto an non-registered reciever of the same model.

I haven't seen anything like it for ShawDirect stuff though.
