Sept 8, 2025 I attempted to watch CityTV on channel 65.1 as usual. My recent model Sony TV displayed a circling icon and after a minute or two then displayed a small circle with a small letter i inside. At the far right it said “signal cannot be decoded”

Other OTA channels continue to come in fine. What decoding of CityTV is that?

The PSIP tables have been broke coming from Toronto since at least Sunday...
When the PSIP tables are hosed up like that, that is how the atsc channels default, when the TV is unable to be told otherwise, how to remap them.
eg - rfch - program number, so in the case of Toronto, 18-1.

Hint, when they aren't remapping, and you know what the rf channel is, just punch in the RF channel number from the remote.
So for me, I punch in '18' 'enter' on my remote and CITY from Toronto will tune right in. No rescan is necessary.
This will work as long as there isn't another channel in your memory that was mapped virtually on the same number.

For example, If I had to do that on RF Ch 23 (wbxz), that trick wouldn't work because WNLO uses 23-1, 23-2 as virtual channels here.

Too much interference from Erie, PA (ducting) to lock Toronto from here right now, but here is what it looked like yesterday eve.

You see all the data was there, except for the 0x1ffb PID, which is where the PSIP lives in ATSC.
The channel was playing fine at the time.

The ducting from Erie, PA should calm down here ~ sundown. Assuming it does and CITY comes back,
will scope it out again.

As predicted, as soon as the sun went down, Erie, PA faded away allowing CITY Toronto to come back in.
CITY Toronto is alive and well, all program data is there, just still missing the PSIP tables, VCT, etc. Still no PID 0x1FFB so still 18-1.

Looks like they did fix the VCT part of the PSIP tables for Toronto, so it should scan in properly now. Just now there's no program guide info
in the stream.

It looks like at least 2 stations are affected, Ottawa and Toronto, so it would help if people specify the station.

I haven't used my antenna since the spring, but I tested the reception in Winnipeg last night and all the stations came in fine including Citytv. However, it uses RF 13, virtual 13, so it sounds like it wouldn't be affected by this particular issue.
