Chum Radio announced today an agreement with Milestone Radio to purchase Toronto radio station The New Flow 93.5 FM (CFJX-FM). The sale is subject to CRTC approval.

This is the third radio station transaction involving Chum Radio. Earlier this week, Chum sold London radio station BOB-FM (CHST-FM) and Bounce (CHBN-FM) in Edmonton to Rogers Broadcasting.

“Flow has done a great job carving out a niche in the Canadian radio landscape providing unique opportunities to artists, listeners and advertisers,” said Chris Gordon, President CHUM Radio. “We value the contributions FLOW has made to promote and develop new Canadian artists, and we look forward to working with their team to grow the station and continue to service the community in Toronto.”

FLOW 93.5 (CFXJ-FM) first launched in February 2001 as the country's first urban music station but in 2005 shifted formats to rhythmic top 40, a mix of top 40 and dance songs.

Chum Radio operates 34 radio in 16 markets across Canada.
