This thread will discuss Sports Programming available on the various CBC platforms. Previous press releases were posted in the CBC TV threads or in the CBC Gem thread, depending on where the events were shown. Sports Programming may still be posted in those threads if it is part of a general announcement.

Most events are available on cbcsports.ca, the free CBC Gem streaming service, and the CBC Sports App for iOS and Android devices.

The Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) and CBC Sports announced that 10 of its 2022 regular season and playoff games will air nationally on CBC TV and CBC Gem as part of CBC Sports weekend programming. For the complete broadcast and streaming schedule, click here.

Fans will also be able to live stream all regular season games on CEBL’s OTT streaming service CEBL+, the CEBL’s official app, CEBL Mobile for iOS and Android devices, cbcsports.ca, the free CBC Gem streaming service, and the CBC Sports App for iOS and Android devices. Wheelchair Basketball Canada (WBC) and CBC Sports will provide live streaming coverage of the Canadian Men’s Feature Game on CBC Sports digital platforms including the free CBC Gem streaming service, cbcsports.ca and the CBC Sports app for iOS and Android devices, as well as on WBC’s YouTube channel, when the Canadian Men’s Wheelchair Basketball Team takes on the Netherlands on Saturday, July 2 at 4 p.m. ET. CBC Sports will provide broadcast and streaming coverage of Canada Soccer’s Women’s National Team’s three group stage matches on July 5, July 8 and July 11 in the 2022 Concacaf W Championship, the qualifying tournament for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia & New Zealand, following an agreement with Mediapro Canada, the rights holder in Canada for all Concacaf national team tournaments through to 2023.

CBC Sports will provide broadcast coverage of the first two group stage matches, against Trinidad & Tobago on Tuesday, July 5 at 7 p.m. ET, and Panama on Friday, July 8 at 7 p.m. ET, on a delayed basis (12:30 a.m. local), and live coverage of the match against Costa Rica on Monday, July 11 starting at 6:30 p.m. ET on CBC TV and CBC Gem. The three games will also be available on cbcsports.ca and the CBC Sports app for iOS and Android devices.

All 16 W Championship matches, including the knock-out rounds and the final, will be aired in full on dedicated soccer channel OneSoccer, available as a linear channel through Telus Optik TV (Ch. 980 in the More Sports pack) as well as via fuboTV Canada platform and the OneSoccer app. OneSoccer’s coverage of the Canada games, the semifinals and the final will be offered in English, French and Spanish. CBC Sports will provide comprehensive broadcast and streaming coverage of the 2022 Commonwealth Games from Birmingham, England July 28 to August 8, including 10 hours of broadcast coverage as part of CBC Sports weekend programming on CBC TV, six daily streaming feeds of the competitions available on CBC Gem, cbcsports.ca and the CBC Sports app for iOS and Android devices, and up-to-the-minute news across CBC Sports digital and social media platforms. CBC Sports will be the exclusive Canadian home for all of the high-intensity track and field competitions at the 2022 World Athletics Championships, taking place in Eugene, Oregon, USA, from Friday, July 15 through Sunday, July 24. Viewers can watch the live events streaming on cbcsports.ca, the CBC Sports App for iOS and Android devices, and CBC Gem, with extensive broadcast coverage on CBC TV and CBC Gem as part of CBC Sports weekend programming throughout the competition. The Professional Triathletes Organisation and CBC Sports today announced that Canada’s Olympic Network will provide extensive coverage of all PTO Tour events in 2022, live and free-to-all via CBC Sports digital platforms: CBC Gem, cbcsports.ca and the CBC Sports app for iOS and Android devices.

Starting with the first-ever PTO Canadian Open in Edmonton next month - which will also be featured as part of CBC Sports weekend programming on CBC TV - CBC Sports coverage will include:
  • The PTO Canadian Open, Edmonton, AB, Canada (July 23-24)
  • The second edition of the Collins Cup in Bratislava, Slovakia (August 20)
  • The PTO US Open in Dallas, Texas, US (September 17-18)
  • Preview shows and highlights packages before/after each PTO Tour event

Niagara College has developed a new streaming platform that will broadcast over 1,000 hours of live coverage of the Niagara 2022 Canada Summer Games from August 6-21 at niagara2022games.ca/watch. Viewers of the platform will be able to live stream more than 90% of the Games’ sporting competitions as well as plenty of on-demand content including archived events, features, highlights and a daily highlight show. The full 2022 Canada Games competition schedule can be found online here.

In addition to this comprehensive coverage, more than 100 hours of live competition and events, including the Opening and Closing Ceremonies, will stream live on CBC Gem, cbcsports.ca and the CBC Sports app for iOS and Android devices throughout the two weeks of the Games. At the same time, they can also tune in at Radio-Canada.ca/Sports and the Radio-Canada Info app for iOS and Android devices.

The all-new Mixed Doubles Super Series will bring together some of Canada’s top curlers for five events over five weekends.
