Not to beat a dead horse but Gem does have commercial breaks within it's programs. I have seen plenty of programs that have them. Some programs seem to be more desirable for advertisers as they have more commercials than other programs. My biggest beef with the commercials is the repetition. It's the same commercials in the same order during the program.

CBC has one of the worst implementation of placing ads that I've seen on any streaming service. Gems ads are typically more frequent, longer and sometimes poorly placed. I've seen programming cut off in mid-sentence by a Gem ad.

If you got ads only at the beginning of your episode, consider yourself very lucky. I think I actually was able to watch one episode without any ads, bur unfortunately I made up for it with every other episode I watched. Same thing happens with the free Roku channel And the ads are always the same ones over and over and over again on CBC Gem.

Production is underway on the new original five-part psychological drama (5X60) and feature film BONES OF CROWS, commissioned by CBC/Radio-Canada in association with APTN. I'm looking forward to "Son of a Critch" this Tuesday, January 4th at 8:30. I know one of the actors very well, he was my neighbour when I lived in Newfoundland.
The show is based on Mark Critch's award-winning, best-selling memoir, SON OF A CRITCH. It looks hilarious. My thoughts are that if you're a fan of "Young Sheldon" now and "Everybody hates Chris" in the past, you will like this program.
