Corus announced that Teletoon will be rebranded as Cartoon Network on March 27. The existing Cartoon Network channel will become a Canadian version of its sister brand Boomerang the same day. (Source)

The final curtain is upon us and despite TELETOON+ still being there in name, the state that cable is in, and my general attitude towards TELETOON over the last sevenish years. I admit, it still feels bittersweet. And although I am still curious what Boomerang will add to the table, my expectations aren’t exactly high
Teletoon's brand had actual value back then. In the late '00s and early '10s, shows produced for the channel were sold internationally to great success. Cartoon Network in the U.S. made plenty off of Bakugan, Johnny Test, Totally Spies, and Total Drama. It would've been silly to kill off a name that was launching hits just to fuel an American brand. Kids here would've been far more familiar with Teletoon's name than CN's at the time.

The problem is that Teletoon might as well be a different channel. Since Corus gained complete control of it in 2014, original content has largely vanished. Teletoon's schedule consists mainly of Warner's content, a few Canadian library series, and an even smaller amount of third-party acquisitions. Rebranding it to CN now isn't really changing much when the current Teletoon relies so heavily on that content anyway.

I've always suspected the Corus Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon channels might've just been a contractual obligation to keep access to those content libraries. The real money wasn't in operating those digital cable channels, but in recycling those shows on their far more widely distributed Canadian brand equivalents.
Thank you for providing such a wide range of material; it will be really helpful for my current project, and I'd like to learn more.
New North Networks, Cross Country TV Ltd., Cablevision, Maskatel, RiverTV are the providers that replaced TELETOON with Cartoon Network this morning.

Also, MNSI just dropped Cartoon Network in favour of Boomerang at the same time.
i'm disappointed with the new boomerang channel. I was expecting the old Hanna-Barbera cartoons lineup from the 60's-70's , Kinda like Teletoon Retro did years ago .

Almost one week in and I get it. At the very least, I think we could have been more creative with the classic Canadian cartoons other than JUST the Racoons. While I guess we can consider Sidekick and Detentionaire ‘retro’ now. I’ve seen other Corus networks air much older shows that would be a better fit in my eyes. (Braceface, Wayside, Pelswick) Meanwhile, you have the DCAU on Cartoon Network as we speak so why can’t any of those shows also be on Boomerang? (Because this is Corus we’re talking about. If you look up bare minimum in dictionary, you’d find their Wikipedia page.)
You know what is bizarre?

TVTV and Zap2it still show the logos for the channels' former brandings, with the new call signs.

TV Passport shows the correct logos, and the new call signs.

See for yourselves.
I've got a serious problem right now!

YTV and Nickelodeon Canada have nothing airing after 7:00 a.m. beginning May 29. Treehouse, will still be on the air in the long run.

See schedule.mediacurcuit.dev to see for yourself.
^^
Maybe Corus haven't setup the summer schedule for those channel yet, let's hope it's only that, YTV is one of my favorite channel. The only thing that worry me is that I heard that Corus/YTV have lost the contract for Nickelodeon shows because of Paramount+. Either that or they are planning a silence rebrand (no name change, just a different logo and somewhat different content)...

The same things is happening to a few others channels such as Disney Channel. So, its more likely that. Also, Corus only lost the streaming rights of Nick shows, not the broadcast rights.

And from what I saw, Disney Junior and Disney XD are continuing on the air into June, just like Treehouse, Cartoon Network, and Boomerang.

Seeing YTV, Nickelodeon, and Disney Channel disappear at 7:00 a.m. AT/6:00 a.m. ET beginning May 29 could be very dangerous.
I just found out that ABC Spark, DejaView, DTOUR, and History2 are also disappearing at 7:00 a.m. AT/6:00 a.m. ET beginning May 29.

CMT Canada and MovieTime are following suit beginning June 5, at 7:00 a.m. AT/6:00 a.m. ET.

So, which Corus channels will be impacted? I need a full list please.
I never use the site, "schedule.mediacurcuit.dev" , so I am wondering if this is the first time you have noticed, in the past, that channel listings are missing? The site claims to have 2 months scheduled into the future. Has that always been true? There could be a number of reasons listings are not given.

Oh, right. They are forgetting the listings for many channels.

I think it'll get fixed eventually, in order to prevent Corus from losing these channels.

I know cable has been on a downward spiral, but I feel Corus would have to be SEVERELY underperforming for that many channels to shut down or be rebranded all at once.
It seems far, far more likely that the site's data simpy stops at that point, rather than Corus suddenly eliminating a huge swath of its channel lineup.

I was on TVTV this morning.

The logos for Cartoon Network HD (East) and Boomerang TV HD have been updated.
I have not been able to watch either of the new channels in my household, because my brothers use the living room TV too much. I have no satellite TV receiver or cable TV subscription in my bedroom.

I just hope Corus Entertainment doesn't rebrand anymore kids' TV channels. Someone on Twitter thinks that YTV has fired their final program jockeys, without any official announcement given.
