I am currently testing a service that allows makes it appear that your internet service is located in the US - this should allow me to access some online content on the Xbox that isn't available to Canadians.

Is there any downside to changing my Xbox settings from Canada to US? How do I do this? Do I have to sign up for a new Xbox ID with a US address? Do I have to rerun any other sort of setup to change my country from Canada to the US.

Note that I don't really do any online gaming - I only play various versions of Rock Band and I don't care about online access to that, as long as I can still play my games.

I believe you will need to create a US based Gamertag needing a US address. As long as your network is seen as from the US you should get the US experience, but I'm not certain. I know others were using Netflix in Canada before it was available here.
