I dont think you find one antenna much different than another.Do you have clear site line to horizon of Lake Ontario ?Can you mount antenna any higher up ?100 miles from those South towers.
I don't have line of sight and have adjusted my height several times...I will try and test the 2 clearstream antennas and see if any better..if not I will learn to live with what I get..I have tried filters and pre-amps..etc...I hear good things about the clearstream antennas so we will see...

So all weekend long I have been switching antennas and filters...the db2e gives the worst results...the db4e and the eaglestar pro are both giving me the same results, not one better then the other...the 2.1, 4.1, 7.1,23.1 series of channels appear in the early mornings and disappear thruout the day..I get about 30% signal and 0 signal quality when the disappear on both the eaglestar and db4e, db2e does not even pick them up...I have a friend comming over this week with a clearstream cv2 max and a cv4max that we will try and see if any of them will be better...so I will let you all know how I make out..My friend is actually upgrading to the 4 max and is offering me the cv2 max, but we will try both to see which one will be best for me.
I have been having problems with the south Buffalo towers for the last week. WKBW is breaking up as I type.

They have been rock solid all winter, this is just a spring problem.

Ok, so yesterday night at 7pm I took down the db4e and replaced it with the clearstream 4 max. At 7pm yesterday in Bolton, weather was dark misty and raining off and on. With the db4e...I only was recieving 49.1, and 51.1 series channels from buffalo. I had no 2.1, 4.1,7.1,23.1,23.2 etc. I put up the clearstream 4 max, aimed at 153 degrees magnetic, just like the db4e and WOW..what a difference..I was able to recieve all the buffalo channels in the rainy weather that the db4e was unable to provide...I got 41 channels..and they still there this morning...2.1 series have been choppy but still there this morning...funny thing is I am missinig 11.1 chch, now I know there is currently bad weather in Hamilton...but this is odd..so i am trying to figure it out...I am wondering if the pre-amp is overloading..currently I am using the clearstream juice pre-amp, I have a kitz kt-200 and a channelmaster cm7777v3 in my garage. I will test with these other pre-amps and see if any other difference or if I can get chch back.

The higher the gain of an antenna the more directional it becomes.

I will continue to make aiming adjustments tonight and see....but I think I found the right antenna for me...I have been scanning thru-out the day on my tablo app and for the most part only channels 2.1 thru 2.5 are comming and going...and still no chch, so I will adjust aimming and then move to the pre-amps..between my cable runs and splitters if my math is correct, I have about 20db in loss..so the clearstream juice is just cutting it...

Im surprised the 4Max out performed the DB4E. Im using a DB2E indoors, and recently I picked up a 4Max BNIB off of Kijiji for $40, so I thought I would give it a try. The 4Max didnt come close reception wise to the DB2E, so back in the box it went. I guess different locations favour different antennas. Im curious to see how your Kitz will work with the 4Max.

I found that the 4 max has a narrow beamwidth (43 degrees) versus the db2e and db4e which are a-lot wider and you have to be more precise aiming the 4 max as I found out..I was out in the rain last night and re-aimed the 4max and got chch as well as the buffalo channels..I ran it with the juice pre amp for a few hours, then I switched to the kitz and added a lte filter..so far it seems a bit better...I have been testing all morning and so far the only channels fading in and out are 2.1 to 2.5...the rest of buffalo are giving about 60 percent signal at 50 percent quality giving the rainy weather and it should improve when the weather clears up..I will also try with the cm7777v3 when I get a chance...but so far I think this is the best that I can get.

So far the kitz amp is working very well with a lte filter and the 4max....2.1 thru 2.5 and 23.1,23.2,49.2,49.3,49.4 are the only channels that come and go...I will replace tonight with the cm7777v3 which has 26db gain and built in lte filter and fm trap and see how that will go over the next few days...the kitz is defiantly working better then the clearstream juice...but something tells me this is as good as it will get..

So after this weekend I can honestly say the cm7777v3 has given me the best results so far...a bit better then the kitz...the only prob channels I have now are 2.1 to 2.5 and 23.2...but the rest so far are pretty stable... this is as best as it gets.

From Tablo website "We use amplified splitting technology to mitigate for this loss, so it’s nearly negligible. "So tablo amplifies signal enough to compensate for splitting to 4 tuners inside tablo.

So the amplification takes care of the loss for their 4 internal tuners... which means the user should see no benefit, as in pull more stations, like me. It's just covering the loss.

If it's tuner was more sensitive or amplified greater than to compensate for it's internal loss, I would see more channels on mine compared to my 2 Sony TV's and I don't.

I'm in Windsor, near Detroit and lost a couple local stations due to Tropo... getting 2 others on the backside of my antenna. Atmospheric conditions can really change things. Good news is that it's temporary. My stations will be back in a few hours.

Could be tropo, proximity to airport, weather conditions that you cannot control.
