I hope this question makes sense.

I am on Cogeco in Windsor

I have a Blu Ray player with an Ethernet connection but no Wifi unless I buy an adapter.

I want to connect a blue ray player to the internet for Netflix, etc. Can I use the Ethernet port on my DVR to attach a cable to the input on my player. Will this connection work - I would prefer it to wifi?

Netflix on Blu Ray

Connect the Ethernet in your wall outlet to your Blu Ray player and then use an HDMI cable from your Blu Ray to your HDTV. The first time I did this I had to download a software update from Samsung for my Blu Ray player, put it on a USB stick and upload it onto my Blu Ray player. The second time the newer Blu Ray player didn't need an update. Netflix works very well this way, but not as effortlessly as it does on a computer or on an iPad or iPod touch.
