I have a tiny bit of programming experience and wanted to try making apps for my Blackberry but they sure seem to want to make it difficult for me. Th

The SDK software is here on the US site, can't even find it on Canadian site.

...but it must be checking IP locations because it tells me that:

"Downloads of this software are not yet available in your country due to regulatory reasons."

Seriously? Is RIM not Canadian? I know Java is a separate company but wtf, what's the fix around this?

That's odd. There are definitely Blackberry developers here in Canada--even in Waterloo. I'd contact RIM directly.
