Does anybody know the best forums that are dedicated to Winnipeg.

I've seen alot of forums for Winnipeg, but there not designed nearly as good as Digital Home.

Any ideas?

Thanks for the compliment. But,,, but DigitalHome is lacking users it seems. It's well functioning forum. And it got kind of a unique style of it's own. There are lots of friendly members here. But still, I think this place will be more fun if DigitalHome got more members.

Actually, there was a time when Digital Home was "more fun" when political discourse was allowed along with sports, but discussions got so heated and people wouldn't play nice :angel that that part of the forum was shut down. The members who used to participate in these "discussions" no longer appear. Pity!:frown:

I am not sure that the lack of political discourse is the cause. Cable, Satellite and even streaming are somewhat mature industries now, even in the smartphone market there is not that much new. There are not a bunch of Category two channels launching and new satellites to increase bandwidth. There is just not that much new in the industry to talk about.

The very nature of Politics is getting high heated. And no political discussion can be considered as "political discussion" unless it got heated. Even in televisions and in live programs, it happens. So it's obvious to occur it on an online forum which is based on Satellite TV (most common source of Political news). It's up to the moderators whether they keep this kind of things or .....

Good point, but there's a reason there used to be that saying about three things you don't talk about at dinner (money, politics and religion) - people tend to have strong views on at least one of those subjects.

An example of a "fun" forum would be autos.ca which allows threads to go off topic, politics, money and just all kinds of stuff....but it is fun. I have to say I gpfind this forum just a tiny bit straitlaced. ;-)

We do have the NWS forum here where anything but religion and politics are open for discussion, provided they stay civil. We found that, much like party/family settings, religion and politics resulted in too many conflicts.

We tried a politics forum years ago, especially when an election was looming, however, it didn't work out. Although the forum may be a bit "straight-laced", we are mostly discussing "the digital home"... ;)
