Anyone know a good PVR ot DVR to revcord TV ( without a PC) with the possibility to have an external hard drive?

I have Videotron, but I do not want to get one of their HD DVR as I do not want to pay a subscription. I like my standard illico and dont want HD.

Can you use any Videotron, Bell or whatever, to record , like a VCR then payback? Without any subscription?

Any suggestion.

I had a PC and I hate the noise and it's too big plus it's a PC...
I'm Looking for a small integrated device.

Something like this :
http://www.danedigital.com/mp-HDD/sospeakypvr_eng.html for example...

Thanks

There used to be a neat solution: Pioneer offered a great machine which had a hard disk. You'd just plug the cable in ( or antenna, for that matter), and you were in business.

Unfortunately, they don't sell it anymore.

Maybe you can find one used? The model I have is the Elite DVR-65H. Still works geat, I am currently building a HTPC to replace it ( I want HD, as I jsut bought a new TV set).

You can always buy the HD DVR outright if you don't want to pay a subscription or rental fee.
