9241 program a uhf remote? I’m trying to program my 9241 receiver to work with a UHF frequency but I noticed that on the system info screen it’s not saying there even is a uhf address? Can anyone tell me why? I know my other 9241 does uhf.

A little more into this, when i hit the system information screen I've got one 9241 that shows:

Remote Address (4) IR/UHF Pro Band A

and the other 9241 that I need to have UHF is only showing

Remote Address (11) IR

Can anyone tell me why one of these has UHF capabilities and one doesn't? I sat on hold with Bell for an hour on Friday night but they had no idea what I was asking.

Good evening everyone, I am new to the forum. I have read through quite a few pages of this thread. Some amazing info.
I have an issue with my remote for my 6131 receiver. It is a silver remote with all the pvr functions on it. It looks identical to the remote for the 9242 or 9241. It worked without an issue last year as I use this receiver in my pool house. I went to use it today and it works fine but when I hit the TV button at the top of the remote it flashes a couple times and then it goes back to green on the sat button. If I hit either the VCR or AUX button it stays there. If I am hit the VCR button it lights up and stays in that mode, then if I hit the TV button it flashes a couple of times and goes back to the VCR button. Does anybody know what this is.
The remote will control the TV for volume and power on and off but will not stay in TV mode.
I have removed the batteries and put them back in and it did the same thing. I have never encountered this before. Hopefully someone can help me.
Thank you in advance.

THe remote is in LIMITED MODE when it flashes like that, if u want it back to normal try to google how to remove limited mode on a bell satellite remote. but not sure why you need to control the tv? is there settings on the TV you want to control with the bell remote? i have young kids and i kept limited mode on cus they would mess with my remote so when ever i wanted to control the tv it would be rare but i would use the tvs remote, this is only because i had kids and they like to play around with the buttons and its usually the tv is on for satellite viewing nothing more, we have almost no need to control the tvs settings with the bel remote, but your situation could differ

Thank you 17671. Worked like a charm. I didn't even know that there was a limited mode. Learn something new every day. I use the remote to control the TV so I can change video modes. Good to know about limited mode though.

One of my pet peeves is that the video source button should work in ALL modes, or at least be programmed as a macro to work in ALL modes. When I was younger and had Rogers digital Cable, I programmed the button on the rogers remote so it would change the TV input no matter which mode it was on, this was not a default setting but was requested a lot by people I know and I was happy to do it for my friends. in fact the NEW Rogers remotes given with the NetBoxes now have a dedicated tv input button regardless of mode. Its sad that Bell TV does not have this as im sure its one of the most common mistakes people make when calling for support is the TV is on the wrong input.

GE Remote extender in 4100 receiver

I ordered a GE remote extender for a friend. Here is a link showing the product:
https://www.amazon.ca/GE-37263-Wireless-Repeater-Extender/dp/B0791K3227/ref=pd_sbs_504_1/137-0032313-7623865?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B0791K3227&pd_rd_r=271e3a1a-79df-4a0e-b3c8-b8eff7a953c4&pd_rd_w=v39mb&pd_rd_wg=x0RJy&pf_rd_p=74b54c94-7195-4620-ba51-7d167ac58a58&pf_rd_r=EG4DTGHVRF436H2FY2QE&psc=1&refRID=EG4DTGHVRF436H2FY2QE
It's a pretty simple plug and play device but no way could I get it to work. It would operate the TV connected to his 4100 with the TV remote but with the 4100 remote, it would not operate his 4100 receiver. Both halves of the GE device would blink the IR Con activity LEDs when the Bell remote buttons were pressed but nothing would happen on the receiver. The GE IR receiver was placed directly in front of the 4100 and also tried the included IR extension cable but that didn't work either.
Before I return it, does anyone have an idea why it won't work?
Can someone recommend an IR extender that is known to be working on the 4100 receiver?

I'm not a Bell expert, however, I believe there are a number of different IR "addresses" that these receivers work with, however, the IR extenders only work with the lowest address. For example, under System Info for the Bell Receiver, you need to set the address to say 1 instead of say 16... This is the case if the address has been changed for the receiver - you'll need to change it to "1".

There's also the issue of IR interference that's discussed in the following link:

Sorry for posting in the wrong thread...Thanks 57 for that info. The 4100 was on address 1. I tried the extender on a 3100 as well. It worked a little but was very intermittent. I hooked up the 4100 again and with some fiddling with the IR receiver, I was able to duplicate the intermittent condition found on the 3100. I put the GE transmitter in a completely dark room and covered the and covered the 3100/4100, one at a time, and the GE receiver with a box to block any extraneous IR. Still got the same intermittent responsiveness from the remotes. I tried 3 different remotes.
At this point I can only conclude that the GE IR extenders that I received are defective. I'm going to return them, far to frustrating to use the way they are now.

After getting two brand new 5.4 IR remotes from Bell neither one will send a signal to the TV for Power, volume, or mute yet the red light activates on pushing the buttons. Every other button for the receiver works perfectly. The remotes are programmed to the default setting 1.
I have to use the Samsung TV remote to power on or mute or adjust volume. A Bell techie couldn't help on the phone but did send me the second new remote. I get the same b.s. on two different TV's. Anyone else have this issue? Any suggestions?

Every Bell remote is programmed the same way via the receiver. Default # 1 . I have two of them in the house,1 upstairs and one downstairs both programmed the only way possible by using Bell's directions. I finally wore out a remote to the point of needing another one as Wifey and I each have our own (important) and when I had the replacements sent neither one will power on TV or affect the sound even though they light up. The new ones will not work right on both totally different TV's. What's up with that?
