Bell says it will stop throttling 3rd party internet connection (now everyone)

Bell this week informed its wholesale internet customers that Bell will be moving wholesale internet traffic to new network facilities beginning in November 2011, facilities where bandwidth throttling practices will not be applied.

Wow, this is pretty surprising news.

Why would they want to increase the speeds (I'm not complaining, I just moved to Primus)?

I wonder if the wholesalers will be charged more for this new infrastructure and thus be increasing their rates.

I just noticed a small speed boost today. Don't know if it's related to this but I'm guessing it is;


Before today I used to get 4.80ish Mb/s and 0.55ish Mb/s. Never higher than this.
